The Journey of Discovery: The Helping Process

Wednesday, September 24th, 2-5 PM

  • Do you feel ill-equipped to care for those who struggle with mental health?

  • Would you like to gain more tools for this timely need?

  • How do you know the point when the need is beyond your ability and it's best for you to refer?

  • What resources are available in the Kansas City area which can supplement your care?

This three-hour workshop covers foundational concepts with skill training to increase competency as mental health providers in a pastoral care venue. The workshop is built on teaching concepts through highly interactive and fun activities which allow for skill development plus relationship building amongst the participants. Topics covered include enhanced active listening, goal setting, and change management.  At least one case study from the participants will be showcased in the workshop for application of the concepts.  (Ron, our time will be limited, so I think we can cover these three topics in that time frame. We can do additional workshops if you want and the participants want more of this training.)

Presented by Chaplain Patricia Mae Plumb, MA Ed., MTh. Ms. Plumb is the founder of The Shepherd’s Touch Ministry.

The Shepherd’s Touch is Patricia’s ministry tapping into her God given skills of teaching, coaching, program directing, writing, and advocacy for the elderly.
