Laura Phillips
2026 Grandparents Camp 1 Director
Rev. Laura Phillips serves as the Director of Children Worship Wonder & Welcome for Disciples Home Missions, after having served in congregational ministry for 20 years.
In each type of ministry, Laura seeks to create a safe and inviting place for all who are seeking, questioning, doubting, and looking for a relationship with God, no matter where they are on their journey of faith. Ordained in 2009, Laura attended Lexington Theological Seminary and the University of Missouri, and has attended, counseled, and directed church camp all around the country, since 1995. Her background and faith journey has colored her commitment to peace, social justice, outreach, and the many different ways in which people can experience God uniquely and authentically. Grandparents camp is a special place for grands and their littles to do this, together!

Sarah McGinley

Mira Smith
2026 Grandparents Camp 2 Co-Director
I started going to camp in kindergarten at grandparents camp & continued going by myself until I graduated in 2025! I've started college now in North Carolina for environmental science, but am super excited to get back to camp this summer!
My senior year I got the chance to serve on the regional youth cabinet and council day camp which both were wonderful experiences. I have been leading this camp with my grandma for a few years now and am excited to do it again! Getting to lead a camp that I attended with her when I was young has been so special and rewarding and nothing I ever expected. I love getting to help younger campers create memories and enjoy the camp experience.
