DAY CAMPS

Day Camps are one-day camp experiences for children. The children will experience worship, games, art, pool, hayride, and friendships all in the great outdoors.

Parents are invited to drop their campers off OR stay for the day. If parents choose to stay please bring $10 for your camp lunch.

My name is Rachel Mason. I grew up going to Tall Oaks and am excited to direct Day Camp this year!
I grew up in Liberty, MO and now live there with my husband, our 3 children, and our outdoor menagerie of 1 dog, 2 cats, and 13 chickens. I work as a geriatrician, caring for older adults in assisted living and nursing homes, but I equally enjoy working with young people.

I love being outdoors, finding great comfort in the beauty and peace of God's creation, and I am excited for us to have a fun day of playing, exploring, and learning about God's love together.
Lisa Engelken
Director Day Camp 2
“Life is all about Plan B.” This is Lisa Engelken’s life motto. When you think you have everything planned, organized, and ready to go-God calls us elsewhere.
Lisa is the mother of four beautiful children and five grandchildren. Lisa is married to William Engelken whom she met at The University of Kansas her freshman year. Her life is wonderfully crazy. In the midst of the chaos of raising children, Lisa was called into ministry to share the message of God's faithful stories to children and families.
Lisa is a commissioned minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) serving in the Greater Kansas City Region at Overland Park Christian Church and as the Treasurer for the Tall Oaks Board. She also serves as a trainer for Children Worship & Wonder. Lisa has served as Director for Day Camps and Grandparents camp for Tall Oaks for many years. She is excited to explore our faith together in the sacred space outdoors at Tall Oaks as a Day Camp Director for 2025.
