This camp is for ALL whether you grew up attending KC Disciples Camps or you're a first-time camper!
​
This camp allows adults to take a break from the real world to connect with nature, your Tall Oaks community, and to your faith.
Structured similarly to our high school-age camp campers can expect a square dance, talent show, interest groups, interactive worship, and powerful keynotes.

The Greater Kansas City Disciples Camps at Tall Oaks have been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember. I first came to camp as a Day-Camper in 2000 or 2001. After graduation in 2012, I came back as a counselor in the summer of 2017, and have been to at least one camp every summer since then.
Outside of camp, I'm a middle school English teacher and a recent father, as my wife and I had our first baby in June of last year. I'm truly grateful for all of the incredible memories I've made and the friendships that have formed through Tall Oaks. And I am looking forward to this opportunity to direct adult camp.

I was a camp counselor and/or director for over 20 years. I served on the Regional Youth Cabinet as an adult member. Although I didn't have the privilege of attending camp as a young person, ask anyone who has ever been in camp with me.... I may technically be an adult, but I'm not ready to admit it yet!
I received my M.Div. from Central Baptist Theological Seminary and was ordained at Hillcrest Christian Church in 2003. I am retired from ministry, but still preach from time to time. I'm a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In 2024, I moved to Washington, MO after spending 44 years in Johnson County, KS. I visited friends in this area, and found the rolling countryside with its vineyards and wineries charming. I am enjoying the small town and the challenge and reward of establishing a new life here.
The last camp I attended was Adult Camp in 2024 as a camper. Every camp is an opportunity to make
new friends and to grow as a person. I'm looking forward to our time together. I hope you'll join us!
